Game Genre - Online RPG
Role Playing Games, or RPGs, come in many different types. The core of any
RPG is you control a character or creature which takes on a role within the
game. Whether you control a wizard casting spells, or an intelligent
starship on missions across the galaxy, your presence in the game is by
playing the role of something else.
Online RPGs expand upon that, allowing multiple people to play their
characters within the same world. Players can group together to overcome
difficult enemies or solve difficult problems, test their skills against
others, or even just avoid everyone except a few good friends.
Most MUDs could be considered Online RPGs.
