Game Genre - MUD
The term MUD originally stood for 'Multi-User Dimension', as a place
where players from all over the world could get together on the
internet and interact with each other in a virtual space.
Over time, MUD gradually came to mean 'Multi-User Dungeon', and MUDs
are now usually considered text-based, multiplayer RPG games. Most
MUDs are based on a fantasy or 'Dungeons and Dragons' style of
gameplay.
MUDs are commonly played by the blind and visually impaired, as they
often have huge and interesting worlds, described entirely in text.
MUDs have been called 'the ultimate in Interactive Fiction'.
